You know, there is an expression in English, for saying "follow your intuition" we use "go with your gut". I searched for its usage, but in all examples it was used in the present tense. Couldn't see the other tense forms for it.
May I use it in the past tense and say: " To make a decision I went with my gut"?
Would be glad to get response from native speakers.
We would add "feelings" at the end
"I went with my gut feelings, and I was right"

You absolutely can use it in the past tense.
"I spent hours choosing which job to take, I can't believe I got two offers at the same time! I wrote loads of pros and cons lists, but in the end I just went with my gut. The people at Centre of English Studies just seemed like much nicer people!"

Yes, you can say "I went with my gut." You can use it in any verb tense. You could say "I don't think I want to plan this carefully, I'll wait until tomorrow's meeting and then I'll go with my gut."
Note that "gut" is often conversational and informal. In writing, you might say "I followed my intuition." Of course, sometimes we do use a conversational tone in writing.
For an example of actual use, I did a search using Google News and quickly came up with one. It is a news story of a person in a small town who got a small part acting on a TV comedy show. She happened to meet the star of the show accidentally.
