What techniques do you use to practice your language skills? đ
I've been learning a new language for almost 5 months. At first, it was a struggle. I didn't know how to start and how to study. I'm not confident with my speaking skills because I get frustrated to make mistakes. So I decided to these techniques, everyday I speak and record my voice using my phone. I take videos while I'm speaking. I talk with myself infront of a mirror. And lastly I talk to native speakers. Even though some of them are weird, they help a lot to boost my confidence and build up my speaking skills.

I listen to songs and read the lyrics, I watch Netflix in the learning language, and I try to read as much as I can. I hope to take classes in Portuguese very soon!

You are doing all the right things. In addition you can try "learning" one of your existing fluent languages including your mother tongue as a "native speaker" of your target language. The green owl can do that for several language combinations.

I just talk and talk, then listen. No specific strategy but just that. The more you talk, the better. Also, I read and write a lot. It is useful to be disciplined in order to be knowledgeable. Knowledge is important even in language acquisition. When you are learning a language, you should never stop learning. As a teacher for 7 years, I never stopped learning. Confidence is built from there.
