I arrivaled Qatar several days ago. I found that thoese people who are of Arabic background are not accustomed to the English name "Hugh", for when I have myself introduced, I alway have to spell it even for several time. Is it true? Should I just change my English name? What about Abu? Is it an acceptable name? I mean it does not conflict with Arabic culture or something else? What is the correct pronunciation?
well, I'm Chinese, Abu pronounces just sound like my chinese nickname.
Thanks for your kindness!
I hope you could find a good name for you soon.
Change your name,choose an arabic name<img title="Laughing" src="http://www.italki.com/Scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-laughing.gif" alt="Laughing" border="0" />..for example:hani=هاني
I'm not sure how Hugh is pronounced
as hug , huf ,hog ... how?
abu in Arabic means father of
example abu hugh =father of hugh
so I think it's not suitable [ it's my personal opinion anyway ]
