Powerlifting. What do you know and what do you think adout it.

Powerlifting is my favourite pasttime now. I am a girl, but I like it because I love sports very much and think that every person(girls too) must be strong to take away all the difficultys of life. Do you agree with me? Or do you think that only men should be strong?

Why would anyone teach a cat to bark if any dog can do it so much better?

My point: I think women's strength is in their weakness. Personally I prefer to allow myself the luxury of being weak (though a few years ago I was taking kickboxing lessons myself ;)

I believe the world is like a mirror to us. If you want to be a man - life will certainly give you such chance. But.. isn't it so much more enjoyable just to be a woman?

Though.. if you truly enjoy it... just do whatever makes you happy :) why would you care about someone else's opinion?

As to the quote: "Those are very nice, because Body Building is a Science that promotes health and well-being." Ahem.. Better ask professional sportsmen aged 30+ about their health before drawing such conclusions.

Think for a minute. How will Powerlifting protect your financial interests? It doesn't. How will Powerlifting maintain your Self-Esteem against the wounding comment of a Man or Woman who intends to offer you a Psychic Wound? It cannot.

What about your Income or Earning Capacity? Will Powerlifting give you a skill set to compete in a world where High Technology and the Sciences lead the way in generating income? It probably won't, unless you can convert your knowledge into a training program for others with your Trademark.

Even then, the demand for other Skill-Sets, such as Martial Arts Training, will be much higher.

In the fashion  world, in which young women  do compete  concerning their outward  appearance,

a  Powerlifter  may be considered an abnormality  as to clothing size and shape.

The only benefit I see in Powerlifting is a  Psychological   benefit. It may give one a feeling of confidence in physical strength; but as I have indicated,  it won't prevent, for example,  other people from lying to you,  deceiving you,  from    denigrating your character to others behind your back.

So the point here is this?   What do we as people,  have to fight against?   What Problems do we face?

I think all women should lift weights. Exercise has has so many physical and mental benefits, I wish more girls would be encouraged to participate. Too many women think they will look masculine if they lift, but this is a mistaken notion. One of the most beautiful women I have ever met could bench press her own bodyweight. Lifting only made her look better.

I think that most of the problems in life demands emotional and mental strength to tackle them and physical strength doesn't assist us in many situations but certainly doing some physical exercises help you to keep healthy and strong which is also an important aspect of life and sometimes it may also aid you to blow some punches on anybody's face in unsafe circumstances. Jokes apart, I believe that everyone deserves to be strong enough in every aspect(emotionally, mentally, and physically) that he/she can handle any difficulty in a life with a brave heart.

Hi Аника:

I have the frequent feeling,  when I see such extreme activities, that they are very dangerous.

Even so, I am very respectfull of all kinds of human endeavours where  people  seek to excel.

While I can agree that  girls no less than boys can use athletics  to   improve and advance themselves,  I would offer  recognition to the idea that Physical Strength  is not the only conception of strength which matters in human experience.  Of all the difficulties that human beings face,  outward or physical difficulties are only a  part of the realm of human difficulties.

I would propose that there are far greater difficulties within the individual person.

In that context,  no amount of Physical Strength  can be of any assistance at all.

For example, there is a popular and funny saying in the United States:

WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY, AND HE IS US.

Although athleticism  can serve to contribute to self-discipline, health, and other qualities of value in human experience, it would be less than reasonable I think, to adopt the idea that  the critical difficulties that mankind faces, are not internal difficulties.

In regard to internal difficulties or the mental abstractions  associated with such internal conflicts,

physical strength is reasonably regarded as the least valuable of all assets.

  --Respectfully, Bruce Bain
