What do you think about this situation? I want to ask your opinion. What do you think about this situation? I can not write English so well.Please ask me if you dont understand what I write and talk. Anyway, I want to ask you, what you think about this situation. There is a handicapped person,Mr. Ototake, he is very famous writer in Japan. He had booked the restaurant but he didn't tell them about his wheelchair. The home page of restaurant shows "please tell us if you come to the restaurant with wheelchair ,because the restaurant is very small and the lift of building doesn't stop at the floor of restaurant." Mr.Ototake went to the restaurant in Tokyo. But the owner refused to let him in, because the owner said to him that he could not do enough service for him and Mr Ototake didnt tell the owner about wheelchair with booking. Mr Ototake said " could you carry me?" ( because he doesnt have legs and arms.) But the owner refused about it. ( There were very busy then. the owner think that other customeres were bothered when he helped and carried Mr Ototake. This restaurant had only two emploees.) Mr Ototake blamed the restaurant by twitter about it with the name of restaurant. I said that he is very famous as writter. Twitter had a big effect on the valuation of the restaurant. As a result, many people know about it and we argued the pros and cons of the matter. Some people said that everyone would help him in Europe und USA. What do you think about this situation? Should the owner be blamed or not? Would you help and carry Mr. Ototake if you were owner? Which was right?

Owner's opinion

 -Owner writes about coming wheelchair on the hopepage'' please tell us before coming the restaurant, because my restaurant don't stop the Lift.

 -The restaurant is very narrow and small,was very busy then. Mr.Ototake can not enter the restaurant without helping. But there are only the owner and one waiter. There are no waiter in the restaurant if Mr. Ototake carry

 -He afraid of that he didnt give enought service for the custmer. Please tell me before coming if Mr.Ototake comes to the restaurant with wheelchair.

 

Ototake's opinion

 -Mr.Ototake didn t tell the owner that he uses wheelchair before he came to the restaurant.

 -Mr.Ototake didnt check the homepage of restaurant, so he didnt know that restaurant does not have a Lift.

 -Why Owner did now help Mr.Ototake. It is one of discrimination, because the owner refused Mr.Ototake that he used wheelchair.

 -Mr.Ototake said to the owner.'' Please carry me.''but the owner refused about it.

 -Mr.Ototake thought that the Owner could carry Mr.Ototake.

 -Mr.Ototake wrote his blog that it is rashness to write the name of restaurant on Twitter. But Mr.Ototake did not apologize and he said that  he felt depply humilitated from the owner.

I don't really understand why did the owner refuse to serve Ototake-san. Did he afraid of any claims of inappropriate service?
