Differences between Cersei Lannister and Catelyn Stark. (Without spoilers!) Okay, so it’s almost 3:00 am and this heat is getting to me… It won’t let me sleep so let’s try to do something useful. Here we go with another entry. Because it’s too late I’m not going to rack my brains really so VIEWERS DISCRETION IS ADVICED regarding poor grammar, mistakes and sometimes bad language! Hopefully it won’t be that bad! ------------- As you might know (or might not) Cersei Lannister and Catelyn Stark are two major female characters from Game of Thrones or The Song of Ice and Fire series if you’ve read the books. I’m going to talk about the obvious and more subtle differences between these two extraordinary women. I shouldn’t really type the word that describes Cersei Lannister. I’ll say though that that word starts with “c” and ends with “t”. She’s a c**t and that’s why we really love her. She’s all wildfire. She doesn’t think things through. She’s a very selfish woman who doesn’t care about anyone but her and her lover (awkward silence). Yes, that lover is his brother. She has no control whatsoever and she’s basically her own worst enemy. That being said, it’s also true that Cersei defies the boundaries of the gender having in mind women were supposed to have less power than men in those days. She exemplifies a strong female character in my opinion. Sure she’s nuts and crazy but also a strong female character nevertheless. She’s unwilling to resign herself to the all injustices (either real or not) and she’s fighting for what she believes in. As for the second character, Catelyin Stark, well she’s quite the opposite. Catelyn plays the stereotypical mother character. She’s sure strong as she’s got sons and daughters though she also lives up all the standards when it comes to the “mother weaknesses”. I’m not sure where I stand on Catelyn’s storyline. I think I liked her and she’s unnecessarily hated both by readers and viewers. Now I came to think about it, the same happens with Cersei too so I don’t know. I just think Catelyn was very brave and did what she thought was the best even though she really screwed it up at some point too. She presented a strong face and showed another, a weak one. She was willing to just basically throw the war way when she freed Jamie Lannister. That’s about it. If you’ve read till here thank you! Any corrections, suggestions or comments are more than welcomed! It's time to sleep really!

Hola Andrés!  Qué artículo tan completo...como siempre estoy impresionado con tu nivel de inglés.  Bueno, hay muy poco para corregir, solo unos detalles muy pequeños.  Enhorabuena!

Differences between Cersei Lannister and Catelyn Stark. (Without spoilers!)

Okay, so it’s almost 3:00 am and this heat is getting to me… It won’t let me sleep so let’s try to do something useful. Here we go with another entry. Because it’s too late I’m not going to rack my brains really so VIEWERS' DISCRETION IS ADVISED regarding poor grammar, mistakes and sometimes bad language! Hopefully it won’t be that bad! - Me imagino que ya sabes en el RU que el sustantivo se escribe con 'c' y el verbo con 's', como practice - to practise, licence - to license, advice - to advise etc... ;)

As you might know (or might not) Cersei Lannister and Catelyn Stark are two major female characters from Game of Thrones or The Song of Ice and Fire series if you’ve read the books.

She’s a very selfish woman who doesn’t care about anyone but herself and her lover (awkward silence). Yes, that lover is her brother. She has no control whatsoever and she’s basically her own worst enemy. That being said, it’s also true that Cersei defies the boundaries of the gender (Me suena un poco extraña esta frase... Se puede decir:  'defies the boundaries of HER gender' or 'defies gender boundaries'.)

having in mind that women were supposed to have less power than men in those days. She exemplifies a strong female character in my opinion. Sure she’s nuts and crazy but also a strong female character nevertheless. She’s unwilling to resign herself to the all the injustices (either real or not - es normal decir 'either real or imagined/imaginary' pero lo que has escrito también es correcto...) and she’s fighting for what she believes in.

As for the second character, Catelyin Stark, well she’s quite the opposite. Catelyn plays the stereotypical mother character. She’s sure strong (No sé exactamente lo que quieres decir aquí...quizá 'She sure is strong' or 'She's certainly strong'...) as she’s got sons and daughters though she also lives up all the standards (no entiendo exactamente lo que quieres decir) when it comes to the “mother weaknesses”. I’m not sure where I stand on Catelyn’s storyline. I think I liked her and she’s unnecessarily hated both by readers and viewers.

Now I come to think about it, (en presente, porque estás pensando en eso ahora mismo... también se puede decir, 'Come to think of it'...es muy usado en inglés)...

the same happens with Cersei too so I don’t know. I just think Catelyn was very brave and did what she thought was the best even though she really screwed it up at some point too. She presented a strong face and showed another, a weak one. She was willing to just basically throw the war way when she freed Jamie Lannister.
