Letter of Intent I am writing to express my sincere interest in North American Business Management Applied Post Baccalaureate Diploma at the Capilano University. In addition to the information in my application, I would like you to know more about my interests and my skills. These details are as much important as my record to give you a perspective of who I am and how I would be an asset to the Capilano University. I first heard about the course in ILAC while speaking to my counselor, and as soon as I started to know more about it, it got my attention. The course has what I look for and consider essential to enter and understand the North American job market, especially in Canada. At first, the opportunity to study with students with different cultures is a unique experience, just the fact that you constantly require group work will change my thoughts and open my mind. In addition, learn from professors who have expertise since they have worked in the market is a tremendous benefit I want to enjoy. Other benefits I take into consideration are the small class size and the connection I will make with other people. I believe that not only the academic requirements but also the multicultural environment will help me to improve my skills and will be of great significance when I enter the Canadian job market, and Capilano is where I can find all of these. In university I had the chance to work with a professor and develop a scientific initiation scholarship program during my last year, I learned with him as he would guide me through the steps and show me how he, as an experienced researcher, would do. He taught me about commitment, focus, determination and self learning. I graduated in December 2013 and had the opportunity to work in a Brazilian small construction company for 7 months. Although I worked for a short period, I had the chance to work in different environments and learn about different areas. Unlike from my university project, in the construction company Maré I was required to learn and use social skills to work with colleagues. Initially I worked in the office to understand the company's policies and values, it's when I started being interested in business management. Since it was a small company, I was able to work with the HR, finances and quality departments and know about each one of them, which skills were required and how important was to the company.
