...Letter of Intent I also was privileged to have worked with the owners who were experienced and would explain to me their ideas and why they would act like they did, it also gave me the chance to overcome the fear of asking for assistance. It was in my last three months when I was required to apply one of the most important skills in business, leadership. During this period I had to act like a leader by managing and being responsible for a project. Since I was responsible, I had to manage some employees and work with colleagues from HR, finances and quality department. I dealt with 10 employees, who I hired, and more than 200 clients. I believe that this is the perfect example of when the relationship skills are most important than theoretical knowledge. It showed me how to deal with different people, by changing their attitudes and behavior without offending them. What I aim for my career is to work in Canada and know how the companies are directed, know deeply their values and their structure. I am aware that Canada is in need of skilled workers and I will do my best to learn what will be taught in the course and apply them to represent the Capilano University in the job market. My objective is to work in sustainable engineer projects with goals to impact society positively and improve the living in Canada. The work practicum offered by the course will be extremely important to develop my skills in the Canadian business environment. I acknowledge the course requires commitment and hard work. I know it will not be easy but I am determined, focused and when I want something I try my best to get it. I am comfortable in working in teams and I have good interpersonal skills, I see dealing with people as an opportunity to learn from another and see things from a different perspective. The main skill I want to master is leadership, which I consider the most important for any professional, no matter the position I will work in, I will always look to get the best of my colleagues, so together we can reach outstanding results. You will be accepting someone who has a critical thinking, has an open mind, is available to consider others point of view, teach and learn with others, not only professors but students as well. You can be sure that I will endeavor to have a great performance in the course, that you will be molding an exceptional professional and will be helping Canada to improve by introducing me to the North American business environment.
