Second part!
There are many criminological theories that can help us understand how economic factors influence of crime rates and the criminal justice system. In this study I will discuss those those theories which, based on empirical evidence, best explain these correlations. The classical theories of rational choice and deterrence argue that individuals, considered as free and rational beings, make decisions based on a subjective estimation of benefits and costs that these can lead to them which these decisions can lead to (accrue) (Akers, 2009). As costs, they mainly highlight the severity of the penalty and the probability of being arrested and prosecuted.
Thank you!!
