“the intouchables” Review “The Intouchables” Review The Intouchables is a 2011 French comedy-drama film based on a true story directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. It stars François Cluzet and Omar Sy. The film has received several award nominations. Philippe is a quadriplegic. Confined to a wheelchair and unable to feel anything below his neck, he is remarkably good natured about his situation. He's rich enough to be able to afford a care, with the aid of a secretary, a nurse, and a caretaker. He lives a reasonably productive life. One day he was forced to find a new caretaker, he interviews all the usual candidates and one who really impressed him. That would be Driss, a "street person" from ghetto with criminal past. Philippe is impressed by Driss' unconventional approach to the interview and offers him for the job. Through the films, those two absolutely different characters try to get used to themselves. Although, there’re a lot of hilarious moments when the simple life from streets contrast with the sophisticated lifestyle of higher society. In the end of this unusual story Driss recognizes that they can’t be together anymore in some reasons, he makes Philippe’s life as amazing as he could, after that he quietly leaves it. From start to finish, The Intouchables is about the development of an unlikely relationship between two very different individuals. For what it is, it's hard to find something better. This film teaches a lot of life lessons, such as laughing on every problem you faces. Furthermore, it deals with very important problems like real and unbreakable friendship despite enormous differences and that no matter who you are, old or young, rich or poor, you will never be too different to be yourself. It’s a very strong and heartwarming film with many inspirational moments which makes you to look on life from other side. However, every film finds his critics, this one is not an exception, but it’s too unimportant to make the film worse. All in all, The Intouchables taught me a lot of important lessons and changed my view on many things in life. In my opinion, this film must be watched my every person who is clever enough to think about something which is really significant.
