An unprepared City It has been raining all night long. When I wake up, Sunday morning, it continued raining. The raindrops covered the entire atmosphere with a water veil, very persuasive and unpleasant. I prepared myself as usual to go downtown to buy the newspaper with my new book of Tolkien’s collection, and I found myself feeling estrange for this awful storm. Not a sound in the street. The big avenue that carries everybody to the next city, called Saldán, was empty. The stream that runs behind my house was really calm. The Dry Stream, a really great irony, but most of the time the stream is precisely dry. It has water this time, much more than usual but anything to be alarm for. I wait for the rain to end, but it did not happen. I have eight dogs in my house and they were very anxious. My mother went downstairs and brought them all inside the house. —Nadia, the basement is underwater! She told me. —What?! —I asked very surprised. We have a room for the dogs downstairs which is just behind the basement and the laundry room. Everything was underwater. I went back upstairs, and I opened my laptop to inform myself about the storm and internet was gone. In that moment, the rain stop and the sun went out. When I started to hear a really big noise, like a thousand trucks coming into my home. I run to the third floor and I saw the stream like a big ocean of mud passed right next to my house. The yard disappeared under the water. I have a huge wall that separate the yard from the stream. It’s a wall made of stones, so it resist the pass of the flood. Many of my neighbors’ walls didn’t resist and the flood went directly into their houses. Was amazing, and thing I’ve only seen in the movies. My town is completely under the mud right now, many people lost their things, their houses, and their animals. The downtown was the most affected part of the city. The stores were covered in mud, and they lost many of their business. I saw a lot of families in the roof of their houses. When we hear the first news, they’ve told us that many places in “Sierras Chicas” “The Small Mountains” disappeared. Right now the storm is coming back, and the mud still like a very bad memory of an awful Sunday.

When I woke up on Sunday morning, it continued raining. The raindrops covered the entire atmosphere with a veil of water, very persuasive [I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but "persuasive" doesn't really make sense] and unpleasant.
