Very interesting! That so cool you got to hear the difference in dialects. All you needed was an Australian there, lol. Anyway, did you know that since the British and American dialects differ so much that they even have different words for the same thing! It's true! For example: You probably know the word french fries right? It refers to a type of food you get at fast food places...right? Well that is an American word. You probably already know that but what do the British call them? They call them "chips." Have you ever heard of "fish and chips"? It is a Bristish food that involve fish and guess what?...french fries! So what we Americans call french fries the British call chips. I think having different names for things is very common when you are talking about different dialects of the same language. 例えば、日本の島国にもそうですね!関西弁と関東弁の差は多いんですよね! 「おおきに」対「ありがとう」とかありますよね!二つとも、サンキューの意味ですね。 方言って面白いでしょう! Interesting huh?

English Accent

I went to badminton after work with my friend last night. There were about 50 people who were a mix of Japanese and non-Japanese. comming who is Janapese and non-Japanease. I had a chance to talk to Canadians, British and Americans. I felt they have had very different English accents. and For me, the American accent was easy to hear listen to because in Japan, the American accent was the most of popular common accent when we took an English lessons at school. when I was student.

You do not need to write "when I was a student" because this is a fact that is already known when you said you wrote you took English lessons at school.

Keep going to badminton - it's a great game and it sounds you gained a lot from it.
