I think grammar is difficult in English.
I feel Japanese grammar is not severer (it's easier?) than English grammar.
I think that "tense" is especially difficult in English.

{Since I'm a native English speaker I can't tell how hard it is ;) but I suppose I do find it hard to explain why things are the way they are sometimes...I'd never heard "severer" before but apparently it's correct :) I would say "harder" in general.}
