yesterday
Rencently my iPhone‘s battery life has been getting worse, so I went to the Apple Store in Nanjing Road, Shanghai, for battery replacement yesterday. To my surprise, I was thinking that it would only cost 2 or 3 hours to replace the battery, but the stuff told me to pick up my iPhone after 8pm when I got there at 1pm.
Oh my god, so I spent 7 hours in downtown without any electronic product alone. To be frank, I felt a little worried because I have no one to share, and I had to keep asking the strangers to determine what time it was. Luckily I took some cash with me, otherwise I would have starved in the worst condition, you know the frequency of people using cash are becoming lower and lower in big cities of China.
While waiting for the accompliment of repair, I went to the museum and visited a exhibtion of Pathway to the American Contemporary Art (1865--1945), which was jointly sponsored by Art Institute of Chicago, Terra Foundation for American Art and Shanghai Museum. There were so many fascinating painting art displayed in the hall, and I was totally enchanted in the beautiful colors and sophisticated brush strokes, reluctant to move my footsteps. James McNeill Whistler, John Singer Sargent, they are both well-known artists, and I never dreamed I would have an opportunity to appreciate their master-pieces so closely one day! Besides, through this exhibition I also got to know another excellent painter named Edward Hopper, whose “Nighthawks” was my favorite painting yesterday.
All in all, despite the exhaustion physically, I still felt very fulfill spritually.

Recently, my iPhone‘s battery life has been getting worse, so yesterday I went to the Apple Store in Nanjing Road, Shanghai, for a battery replacement. I was thinking that it would only take 2 or 3 hours to replace the battery, however to my surprise, the staff (stuff - things. staff - people who work for a company) told me to pick up my iPhone after 8pm, when I got there at 1pm.
Oh my god! So, I spent 7 hours downtown, by myself, without any electronic devices. To be frank, I felt a little worried, because I was alone, and I had to keep asking strangers to ask what time it was. Luckily, I took some cash with me. Otherwise, I would have starved! The frequency of people using cash in the big cities of China is becoming lower and lower.
While waiting for the completion of the repair, I went to a museum and visited an exhibition of the Pathway to American Contemporary Art (1865--1945), which was jointly sponsored by the Art Institute of Chicago, the Terra Foundation for American Art and the Shanghai Museum. There were so many fascinating paintings and pieces of art displayed in the hall, and I was totally enchanted by the beautiful colors and sophisticated brush strokes, that I was reluctant to as much as take a step. James McNeill Whistler and John Singer Sargent are both well-known artists, and I never dreamed I would have an opportunity to appreciate their master-pieces so closely, all in one day! Moreover, ("besides" is not used incorrectly here, however "moreover" is more suiting) through this exhibition, I got to know another excellent painter by the name of Edward Hopper, whose “Nighthawks” was my favorite painting in that exhibition.
All in all, despite the physical exhaustion, I still felt very spiritually fulfilled.
This was very captivating to read! A really cool story, well written too :)
