Make sure = double checking, or confirming something.
Assure = convince someone else, or persuade someone of a fact.
So basically, "to make sure" means that you or someone else is confirming that something is right or true. Whereas "to assure" means that you or someone else is confirming or convincing someone else that something is right or true.
Make sure example - "I just want to make sure that you gave me the right amount."
Assure example - "I assure you that you have the right amount."
I hope that this helps, sorry for the wait.

Hello!
From what I have understood:
–Make sure: review, confirm that something is right or the way we want it by doing something to check on it.
Ex. I made sure to lock the doors.
–Assure: using your words, explaining that something is safe, sure, confident.
Ex. I assure you that I locked the doors.
It could be missing some key points, but this is my modest input.

To "make sure" of something is to confirm that something is complete/done and/or to confirm something happened. To "assure" something/someone is to get rid of any doubts that he or she may have about a situation.
"Make sure there is food in the fridge." - The speaker is telling the listener to check the fridge for food.
"I assure you there is food in the fridge." - The speaker is making sure the listener knows that there is food in the fridge.
I hope this helps.

To make sure of something is to confirm something i.e ‘I made sure the knot was tied’ - confirming it was tied. ‘I would like to make sure our table is booked’ - confirming a booking.
Assuring is more of a persuasive thing. ‘I assured my friend it would not be scary’ - persuaded him in that way.

There is also "ensure" and "insure" too!
Ensure is more or less the same as "make sure" while "insure" is the act of providing insurance, in other words, a financial product that pays you back if a loss-causing event occurs.
