to summarize my recording:
a cross-cultural misunderstanding occurs when you act something that is fine in your culture but may cause disrespect in others.
To begin, there are a variety of signs such as hand poses, distance when you are talking (in my country is normal to talk too close xD), greetings, and so on.
On the other hand, we need to realize that it is part of our misconceptions due to movies, books, television or others. After recognising that we are not the only culture in the world, the idea is to avoid possible problems.
Basically, indicating respect to the rest when you run into another person or even for a business. However, if you have already done some awkward moments just try to put the other at ease.
