"Just" is used to express exactness, accordance with law, or truth:
"The wooden board is just six feet long" (exactly 6 feet, no more, no less)
"The judge's decision was just" (accordance with law)
"I just love watching them" (truth)
"The punishment for his crime was just" (accordance not only with law, but also with what is morally right. It means the same as "He got what he deserved")
