Spring has come, the Little Swallow is flying back from the South far, far away, along with her mother.
Flying, flying, they are flying over the sea. The Little Swallow looks down and asks curiously, "Mom, how is it that so many iron towers have come to pass over on the sea?" Mom smiles and answers, "Dear girl, those are derricks, and working people are drilling for oil beneath the sea floor."
Flying, flying, they are flying above high mountains. With a glimpse downwards, the Little Swallow senses something strange and asks, "Mom, why is that train not smoking?" With a smile Mom says, "Dear girl, that is an electric locomotive. Look! There are electric wires above its roof."
Flying, flying, they are flying across fields, back to the place they lived last year. The Little Swallow asks wonderingly, "Mom, why are there so many new houses here?" Mom says smilingly, "Dear girl, the peasants are living better lives now. Look! That boy who is writing, is he not Jason?"
The Little Swallow says merrily, "Mom, Jason loves studying now." Mom says, "Yes! The countryside has already changed so much!"
