I have a question.
Un hombre llega y se come el sándwich.
Is this sentence right? Why is “se come”?
Could somebody explain in English? Thank you.

"Se" is used only to give more emphasis. But notice it's used with a number. "Todos los días me como dos manzanas" (Everyday I eat two apples), but we can't say "Todso los días me como manzanas" (Everyday I eat apples) because it's too general, there's no specific number, so in that case we would just say "Todos los días como manzanas". I hope this has helped :)

Hi friend ! I know it sounds confusing right ? Haha Both are correct "Un hombre llega y se come el sandwich" ó "Un hombre llega y come un sandwich". The difference is that using "se come" (talking about the man) you are simply adding more emphasis in the fact that the man is eating by himself the sandwich so the importance of the sentence remains in the subject....Hope it helps ! I'm Angie, a Spanish tutor from Mexico, in case you need one 😊✨🇲🇽

It is correct. 'Se' is used to put more emphasis on the action a person does.
