Probably yes, trivial little things, but in general most humanity is affected in a way or another by little things,no matter how rational ,logical they try to assess matters. It seems like part of human nature!

I know it as "tiny things please tiny minds"! ^^ I've seen other versions (small things amuse...etc), but none which use "affect".
