names of months in Thai Do the names of the Thai months have any meaning? It seems to me that the long names such as กรกฎาคน or พฤศจิกายน must have some meaning apart from just the name of the month itself. For exemple, in old Russian language we had the names which meant 'a windy month' or 'a month when the leaves were falling'. Perhaps, there is something similar in Thai? Besides, can you name a person using a month name? I'm sure I've heard names เมษา and สิงหา. But probably they just sound the same and are written in a different manner?
