talking to a brick wall...What does it mean ?
Today , I read a news article and there is a sentence as below
This man said he had been refused USD240,000 in loans and getting credit was like " talking to a brick wall". I can not get it...Why did he feel he was talking to a brick wall ?? Does it mean he feel bank staff ignore his feeling ?? Please comment. Thank you.

They are right. "Talking to a brick wall" occurs when you are talking to someone and they appear to be listening, but when you ask them to repeat what you said, they have no answer because they were not listening.

It's a simile. You always use it with "like". "...like talking to a brick wall".
What happens when you talk to a brick wall? No response. :)
