If you are familiar with standard latin keyboard layout, which I think you are, as I believe that's the one you use in japan, I would advise you to instal "Phonetic Russian Keyboard" - this keyboard is better than the one windows offers, as windows one organizes characters in same way as russians do, because it's mainly made for them, and their keyboards have proper characters printed on buttons, so it makes sense. http://winrus.com/kbd_e.htm#inst However, for us who use keyboard with latin characters, latin letters printed on keyboard and cyrillic letters you get by pressing those buttons, are all over the place, and you need to learn where each letter is, which I don't think is necessary, you are supposed to learn language at this point, not keyboard layouts used in other parts of the world. This Russian Phonetic Keyboard, puts cyrillic characters on corresponding buttons of latin keyboard. You get 'м' by pressing 'm', 'н' by pressing 'n', 'г' by pressing 'g', 'п' by pressing 'p', and so on - everything in it's right place. You can even modify position of characters further (if you are not using latin keyboard) which is what I did, as I'm from serbia, and I have serbian keyboard with characters like 'š' = 'ш', 'ž' = 'ж', 'č' = 'ч' and such, so I removed having to remember location of these characters as well. Plus, for some reason the creator of this keyboard layout creator placed russian 'х' to latin 'x' instead of latin 'h' which is phonetically more appropriate, so I moved that one too. http://winrus.com/mod_e.htm at this second link you can find instructions on how to modify the layout to suit your needs best. удачи

Switch to Russian keyboard, then print out the letters in order and use this print out to work out where each letter is: й ц у к е н г ш щ з х ъ ф ы в а п р о л д ж э я ч с м и т ь б ю .

Try to search the web. There is plenty of answers to that. Or you might find helpful the following link: http://www.stanwardine.com/russification.htm To solve the problem with the keyboard you might order a Russian keyboard or buy a sticker set for keyboard buttons with Cyrillic characters. You might look for such stickers on Chineese online stores. Oh, I have found the stickers on the Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Cyrillic-Keyboard-Lettering-Transparent-Background/dp/B000NJSVOA
