What are the words for "enthusiastic" and "curious" in Japanese? How can I say "The students were curious and enthusiastic" in Japanese?

がくせいたちは / こうきしんがつよく / ねっしん / だった The counterpart of the "curiosity" is こうきしん, and there is no general adjective meaning "curious". So when you say "curious", こうきしん must be followed by some verbs like (が)つよい or (が)ある. And the counterpart of "enthusiastic" is ねっしん(な) or むちゅう(な).

You can use "students" for students of any age in English, but we use 学生 for college/university students, 生徒 for junior/senior high school students and 児童 for elementary school students.
