沉默 refers to simply not talking. If it's used to describe a person, then he/she is not talkative. 年代 refers to a decade of a century. When you see '八十年代', it simply refers to the 80s. 或许 means maybe, like if this didn't happen, then maybe(或许) that wouldn't have happened. 不该 means shouldn't. 太 if used on its own means 'too', like 太远(taì yuán) means too far. But it has other meanings too if it's paired with other words, like 太阳（taì yáng) means sun. 遥远 means far, mostly used to describe distance. 的 has no particular meaning, it is used behind other words like 美丽(meí lì)的花(huā) which means beautiful flower and 是我(shì wo3)的 means it is mine. 相爱 means acting or being loving towards. 我 means I or me. 送 means send, like 送礼物 (sòng li3 wù) which means sending presents. 你 means you. 离 usually means to leave, although it has other meanings too. It is most frequently pair with 开(kaī), and 离开 means to leave someone or some place. 开 means to open if the word is on its own. 天 means sky. But if it's seen as 雨天(yú tiān), it means rainy day(天). 涯 means limit. If combined with 天 to become 天涯，then it refers to the furthest corner of the Earth. 之 has multiple meanings, even if used as a word on its own, which it would rarely be seen as. Common words are 之后(zhī hoù) which means afterwards, 之前(zhī qián) which means beforehand, 之外(zhī waì) which means other than. 外 means outside of something. 外国人(waì gúo rén) means foreigner and 外面(waì miàn) means outside of some place.
