To me, a socially unaware person does not know how their (thoughtless?) behaviour affects the people around them. They have no idea about how to behave in public or other social situations... but go out in public anyway. I guess it's pretty similar to "socially clueless" and "socially ignorant".

Please understand that the definition given above is a sort of humorous definition. It basically tells us that a SOCIALLY UNAWARE person has no respect for social conventions, common courtesy, or being "on topic" and is generally irrelevent to other people's dialogues.
