Do you mean "tense"? The tense is the form the verb takes to indicate the time or duration of the action or state it describes. A sentence is a group of words usually containing a subject and predicate(verb phrase) that expresses a complete idea.

The tense of a verb shows the time of an event or action. There are 4 types of tenses in english: simple, perfect, continous and present perfect. Continuous and each of these has a present, past and future form. The sentence is an unit of language. One of the simplest sentence is: "I eat".

Just another tip: "difference" = not the same; "deference" = submission and respect. Be careful of the spelling.
