i 'll write a few examples, to make two japanese sentences to one, but if you're not satisfied with what i write below, ask me again or ask someone else
watashi wa nodo ga kawaita (i'mthirsty) +
watashi wa aisu ko-hi- wo nomu (i drink iced coffee) =
watashi wa nodo ga kawaita node aisu ko-hi- wo nomu (i'm thirsty, so i drink iced coffee)
watashi wa unten menkyo wo motte inai (i don't have a drivers' license) +
watashi wa kuruma wo unten shita (i drive a car) =
watashi wa unten menkyo wo motte inai ga, kuruma wo unten shita (i don't have a license, but i drive a car)
(you can use 'keredo', instead of 'ga')

the basic way to do sentences is using the verb be. for example> watashi wa nihongo no gakusai desu *I'm a japanese student. the desu *pronunciation des) indicates that something is, with that base you can do a lot of sentences> subject wa adjetive desu. hope you understand my poor english.
