者という字は、たとえば、 家の者を迎えにやります。 お前のような者は勘当だ。 若い者。 などのように使います。決して 愛する者。 大切な者。 あなたは私に必要な者。 とは言いません。 これが理解できれば、宝者という言葉がない理由がわかるでしょう。 因みに「子宝」という言葉がありますから、日本人にとって 宝といえる人間は、子供だけなのかもしれません。 「宝」という言葉と「とても大切な」とは、似ていますが同じではないのです。 因みに「要人」とは、重要な地位にある人で、主に政治用語として使われます。 例) 政府の要人 決して「わたしの要人」 とは言わないので注意して下さい。

The fact that two kanji are pronounced in the same way doesn't necessarily entail that they mean exact the same thing. 物 means things and stuff, which do not have life. 者 is a suffix kanji that refers to people (with the same character) e.g.若者 the youngsters 初心者 beginners....... 大切な人->要人 宝者doesn't exist.
