can you help me understand a gesture?
"Her lips curled into a snarl. She grabbed my left sleeve and pointed me toward the sofas."
What kind of a gesture is that: Lips curl into a snarl. Does that mean she is angry?

Yes. We normally use "snarl" to describe the face of an aggressive dog, or of a wolf. It's a threatening face to make.

Yes. Usually more of a frustrated anger than a raging anger.

Yes, exactly. She is angry and annoyed.

As Peachy said, it describes the snarl that a wolf or a dog makes and is very aggressive. Here is a photo of a wolf snarling: http://www.blirk.net/wallpapers/1280x1024/snarl-of-a-wolf-picture-1.jpg
