Who can teach me how to read the name?
Alex Brychta
Is 'ch' voiceless or pronounced 'k' , or we can read 'c' as 'k' and 'h' as 'h'?
I've watched an interview on the famous illustrator, but I'm still not sure how to read the man's name.
Thank you.

On this video, it is pronounced with a hard "k", like in Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall". So, it sounds like Brick-ta

Alex Brychta is Czech.

Going from the same video as Devin found, the interviewer actually said "Brychta" exactly how it is said by Czechs: to us, the Czech "ch" is a rough English "h".
In English, it's becoming more typical to pronounce foreign names with the original pronunciation, even if the sound (such as the Czech ch) doesn't exist in English. Television presenters and interviewers are especially careful these days.
That being said, I still agree that Devin's Anglicised version of "Brick-ta" would be how most English natives would say it.

I think most English speakers would ask how this is pronounced before attempting to pronounce it themselves. Foreign names can be difficult because the language they come from usually has different spelling rules.

Thank you, Anthony. The man is from the UK.
I would like to read Bry-cha-ta, but don't know how to read 'cha'.

Hi, last names are very tricky. Do you know what country the man is from? I would pronounce his name with the ch sound like cha - Bry-cha-ta. This is only my guess.
