Cuando se habla del desconocimiento de algún hecho, acción, fecha, etc. no hay mucha diferencia, se pueden usar los dos sin cambiar mucho el sentido de la oración: -¿Sabes si vendrá Andrés a la fiesta? -No sé/ No lo sé. No me habla desde aquella ocasión Pero en algunas ocasiones (como en ese Vine) el "no lo sé" se usa para denotar indecisión, se puede reemplazar por "no estoy seguro/a" -¿Estás segura de comprar eso? -No lo sé/No estoy segura, tal vez mi madre se moleste por malgastar su dinero

Los dos son intercambiables. Ahora bien, tal vez la forma 'no lo sé' es más formal y se encuentra más en literatura. En lenguaje oral se usa más 'no sé..'. Gramaticalmente es más completo decir 'No lo sé'. 'No sé' cobra más sentido cuando va seguido de una subordinada: (Ej: No sé si vendrá).

Katherine, there's almost no difference to give a short answer. No sé and no lo sé are exactly the same in this case, example: What time do you think he will arrive? No sé / No lo sé. But whenever you start an affirmation, then you use 'No sé', example: I don't know what time will he arrive -> No sé a que hora llegará. (here we don't have the 'lo', which comes from 'saberlo', now the verb is just 'saber') And, there could be situations what you will use 'No la sé'.
