Les in French.
What is the etymology of "les" in French?
Does anybody know why the plural definite article "les" in French does not change with feminine or masculine nouns? In Spanish, for example, you have "los" and "las" used.
Just curious.
Interesting question! It seems it's just the way it descended from Latin:
"Etymology: From Old French les, from Latin illos, which is the accusative plural of ille."

In french you dont have to preocupate about masculine/feminine plural !! That's a rule, I don't have any explination !! It's easier this way! Enjoy it hahaha
