if you want to ask your friend to remind you to ask her a question it would be "remind me later to ask you a question"

There are two variations, i.e. you can use both these words in sentences which are similar. Either "I remember asking you a question" OR "this reminds me of a question I asked you". In the case of "I remember asking you a question", you're implying that you want to continue the conversation from when you asked the question and that you probably didn't get an answer for your question. [Variation: "This reminds me, I asked you a question".]
In the case of "this reminds me of a question I asked you", you're inferring that something that just happened or was said made you recollect the moment in which you asked the question.
Basically, if you want the answer for the unanswered question, use "I remember asking you a question"; if you're just recollecting a memory, use "this reminds me of a question I asked you".
