هناك سجين في غرفة لها بابان أحدهما يؤدي الى الحرية والآخر لا يمكن الخروج منه, ويوجد حارسان على البابين أحدهما صادق والآخر كاذب , ولكن المشكلة أن السجين لا يعرف أيهما الصادق أو الكاذب , وليس له الحق في أي شيء سوى طرح سؤال واحد ووحيد اذا أراد الخروج .
اذا ما هو السؤال الذي يطرحه هذا السجين حتى يتمكن من الخروج من سجنه؟
هذا السؤال له جواب.
