Hi James! No matter what level you have, I Think you should never use Google translate to translate a text. If it's an important text, for example for your company or a client, no matter what level you have, you should give the translation to a native speaker (or two) so that they could correct it.

But use it only for help, it's not good for making an accurate translation.
