one thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars is correct. The 'dollars' goes at the end of the numbers. If you say it the other way the listener is likely to be momentarily confused and may ask you to repeat yourself. They will hear it as 1 thousand dollars, and, one hundred and fifty.........what?

one thousand, one hundred and fifty dollars, or eleven hundred and fifty dollars (a shorter, quicker way to say the number). For example: 1,100 = eleven hundred / 2,400 = twenty-four hundred / 100,000 = one hundred thousand.
