to have an even chance
Hi!
I'd like to know if this expression means the same as "to have a fifty-fifty chance".
Example:
There’s an even chance (=a 50-50 chance) that the jury will find him guilty.
Thank you!
"Even" in this case means the same thing as "equal"
Because it is an even chance, it can go either way, 50/50
There is an "equal" chance the jury will find him guilty.
