Grammar
I was wondering why sometimes we have to use the ing form rather than the infinitive form. For instance,
1- I am looking forward to meeting you next weekend!
2- I am looking forward to meet you next weekend!
I know that the verb "To meet" of the first sentence has to be in ing form because it is a gerund and because it is grammatically correct but, why is it like that, is there a different meaning if I would be using the verb "to meet" without the ing form in this context?
Thank you for your help!
