Looking for the best option
Hi. I've got two sentences and I was wondering if you could help me pick the best option.
The meetng has been rescheduled for/to an earlier time.
The meetng has been moved for/to an earlier time.
Thank you in advance!

Neither seems grammatically wrong, except since we are talking about a change or a transition in this context, you would never use the preposition "for;" "to" is your only option in this context.
Furthermore, I feel like you would more commonly hear "The meeting has been moved to an earlier time."
If you said "rescheduled" the prepositional phrase "to an earlier time" may not be necessary since the verb "reschedule" already refers to time. "move" however can refer to a change in position or time, so the prepositional phrase "to an earlier time" is necessary to make it clear that you are talking about a change in time and not place.
I hope my explanation is clear to you. If there is something you still don't understand, please let me know.

'to' is better. Rescheduled is better in a more formal context, moved is much less formal.
Which to use would depend on the context.

Thank you very much for the input, Basil.

You may or may not want to "corrupt" your English with this odd Indian English phrase (but perfectly viable).
"The meeting has been preponed". (http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/prepone)
