Hi, there. Good question!!
A verb phrase is a group of words that contain a verb. Examples:
Went to the store.
Can't see the TV.
She went to the store, but couldn't buy the milk. ("but couldn't buy the milk" is a verb phrase)
A phrasal verb is a verb with usually a preposition that changes dramatically the meaning of the verb. Examples:
ran into (I ran into my old friend.)
showed up (I showed up late for my class.)
made up (She made up the story.)
talked into (He talked his teacher into improving his grade.)
