أنا آكل. Vs لأني آكل.. What's the difference?? when I asked the translation for.. "I eat" =" أنا آكل" in an app it showed.. But for the sentence "I am eating" = " لأني آكل" which showed differently... What's going on here? Can you shed some light on this?

Salam Munavar, Regarding the translation of both (I eat) and (I am eating), they mean the same: "أنا آكل". "I'm eating" though indicates that I'm eating now, still we would translate "I'm eating" in Arabic as "أنا آكل" same as "I eat". There's no difference in Arabic between the present and present continues, they both mean the same thing. I also want to point out that لأني آكل means: "because I'm eating" and not "I'm eating". So the app that gave you "I'm eating" as a translation to "لأني آكل" is wrong.

first : in English language there are more tenses like present continuous, simple present >etc but in Arabic language there are only 3 tenses past , present, future.I eat انا اكل ,I'm eating انا مازلت اكل . I am busy because I am eating انا مشغول لاني مازلت اكل
