We act because we can get away with it. Because we can get away with it, we act. Neither of the above sentences describes the kind of act we are talking about. Adding those extra words clarifies it. We act badly because we can get away with it. We act carelessly because we can get away with it. We act as we do because we can get away with it. Hope that helps! :)
