What is the meaning of "beat about / around the bush" and "bright and breezy" ?
Why don't you stop beating about the bush and tell me why you're here ?
Can you tell me why Margaret is always so bright and breezy in the mornings ?

'Beat about the bushes' - expression for delay or avoiding an action, like words or doing something. 'Stop delaying, why are you here?'
'Bright and breezy' - expression for 'warm and friendly'. In the US, it would be more common to hear the phrase, 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' that I believe originates from how a bunny looks.

Beating around the bush - is not giving someone a direct answer or asking a direct question.
For example. My husband doesn't want to tell me I look fat because this would offend me :)
Therefore he will beat around the bush and ask - is that dress a little tight? Is that a larger size than you normally wear?
Bright and breezy - means someone is very happy, smiling and has a lot of energy.
I am NOT bright and breezy in the morning :)
Hope this helps
