There are no words побесполезнее, побесполезней in Russian language. We say бесполезный, бесполезная, бесполезное, бесполезно (бесполезный совет, бесполезная книга, бесполезное занятие, бесполезно объяснять).
Degrees of comparison : более/менее ( более бесполезное занятие, менее бесполезное занятие)
