Get chilled or chill?
Which is correct?
Some examples I found on the internet.
1. The spring birds from the south were chilled and died in large numbers.
2. I suspect the nights got too cold for the few nurse bees to keep the brood warm, and it got chilled and died.
3. He glanced at the number and his heart chilled once again.
4. His heart chilled as he read it.

Well firstly, this is generally an awkward way to say most. 4 makes the most sense. Chilled is something that comes off as less severe than 'cold'.
Typically chill would be used as its definition to say you chill something, get it somewhat cold or that its chilly outside, kind of cold, but not too cold. It can also be use emotionally as 'it sent chills down my spine' like it made them uncomfortable or scared in a very uncomfortable way.
A more colloquial way of using chill is to say 'I'm chilling'. This is used in place of relaxing or doing nothing.
