Did Peppa Pig say 'it's only mud' or 'it's only muds'? My four-year-old son loves Peppa Pig recently and I find it is a great material for English learning. So I am trying to listen carefully sentence by sentence and write the transcripts out. I started today from the episode 1, Muddy Puddles. I heard Peppa Pig said 'It's only muds' many times and I think it should be 'mud' according to the grammar knowledge I learned, but my ears told me it sounds like 'muds'. https://youtu.be/WdvGYRaRHUs?t=2m35s https://youtu.be/WdvGYRaRHUs?t=4m29s I also found a transcript here: http://glamour-and-discourse.blogspot.com/p/peppa-pig-episode-transcripts.html#1 and it is 'it's only mud'. Which one is exactly Peppa Pig said? If 'mud' is the correct one, why it sounds like 'muds'?

She is saying mud. What sounds like an 's' is the 'd' of mud. In this context, she is pronouncing mud like this - 'mu - ud' - with an emphasis on the first part. This pronunciation emphasizes that it's ONLY mud - its not that bad / dangerous / etc.. its just mud! This is quite advanced, but to answer your question, yes she is saying mud.
