How do you read decimal numbers?
The sentence: "The mean age of the participants was 10.7 "
"ten dot seven."
Is it something like this?

Ten point seven years, yes... but decimals aren't used with age normally, so it seems strange..
(a year has 12 months so people usually think about that)
