"This flew right over my head" -> meaning?
What's the idiomatic meaning of this?
Is it that I didn't give much care and it was just forgotten?

No, when something flies over your head, it means that you didn't understand what was happening. For instance, if you say a joke to someone and they just stare at you, you could say, "That flew right over your head, didn't it?". Does that make sense?
