Day off is literally one day.
Time off is any time period, it can be less than a day, a matter of hours, but can be longer than a day and usually is.
I took the day off because it was my birthday
I took time off because my wife had just given birth
I will take time off this afternoon to watch the football match
Hope this is useful

Hi Ali, time off means a period of time that you are not working. Day off usually means a specific day of the week that you do not work. So, time off can mean a day or a year while day off is one day and often the same day each week. Example sentences: I'm taking some time off to help my mom move. Sunday is my day off. Hope that helps!
